This Internship Policy outlines the terms and expectations for interns at Samvida Law Associates.

Internship at Samvida Law Associates is primarily a litigation internship. While we do not reject applications solely based on the year of study, we encourage students to apply only after having studied major law subjects, so they may better benefit from the experience.

1. Duration

The internship shall be for a period of one (1) month, commencing on the mutually agreed start date and ending after one month, unless extended or terminated earlier by the Firm.

2. Working Hours & Attendance

The Intern must report to the office by 9:15 AM sharp every working Monday to Friday and at 12:00 PM on Sunday. Interns are free to leave the office by 5:00 PM in the evening.

Full-day attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Any deviation without prior approval may lead to termination or impact the issuance of a completion certificate.

3. Dress Code

Interns are required to wear a proper uniform in accordance with the Bar Council of India Rules.

Interns must maintain a professional and neat appearance at all times.

4. Own Equipment Requirement

Interns must bring their own laptops for research, drafting, and other assignments. The Firm will not provide computers or devices for intern use.

5. Confidentiality

Interns are expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all case details, client information, internal discussions, and any sensitive material accessed during the internship.

No material may be disclosed, reproduced, or used outside the Firm without explicit prior written consent.

This obligation continues even after the internship has ended.

6. Conduct & Professionalism

Interns must conduct themselves with professionalism, diligence, and integrity.

Respect toward colleagues, clients, and court officials is mandatory.

Any misconduct, breach of protocol, or unethical behavior may result in immediate termination of the internship.

7. Stipend

A minimum stipend of ₹3,000 will be provided upon successful completion of the internship.

In cases of exceptional performance, the Firm may, at its discretion, increase the stipend as a gesture of appreciation.

8. Assignments & Learning

The internship will involve tasks such as legal research, drafting, case analysis, court visits, and client briefings, drafting content for the website, organising and analysing data, etc.

Interns are expected to be proactive, ask questions, and make the most of the learning opportunity.

9. Certificate of Completion

A Certificate of Internship shall be issued only upon:

  • Successful completion of the full one-month term,
  • Satisfactory performance and conduct, and
  • Fulfillment of attendance and reporting requirements.

10. Termination

The Firm reserves the right to terminate the internship at any time, without notice, in the event of breach of terms, misconduct, lack of punctuality, or unsatisfactory performance.
